The limits of everything on this site, stated once, plainly, in one place

No outcome is promised anywhere on this site

This is the first item because it is the one that matters most, and because the opposite is the standard sales pitch in this market.

No page here promises that anything will be removed, that a result will move, that a listing will stay gone, or that a search for your name will look different afterward. Content may come down where a published route exists. A platform reviewer, an editor, a judge, a compliance queue or an algorithm decides — not you and not me. If you read a sentence here that sounds like a promise, it is written badly and I would like to know about it, because it is not the intent of any page on this site.

The same applies to anything said in conversation or in correspondence. Nobody in this field is in a position to guarantee an outcome, and the operators say so themselves.

Information, not advice about your situation

Everything here is general information about categories: what a news article is, what a people-search listing is, what a platform does with a report of a particular kind. It is not advice about the specific thing you found, because I have not seen it.

The details decide almost everything in this subject. Who hosts the page. Whether the content breaks a written rule rather than merely being untrue or unfair. Whether there is a factual error you can evidence. Whether copies exist and where. Two situations that read identically in a paragraph can have completely different answers, and a page cannot tell which one you are in.

Bill Hartzer is not an attorney

Nothing here is legal advice and no reading of it creates an attorney-client relationship, because there is no attorney to have one with. I am a consultant. My work is factual: what exists, where, under whose rules, decided by whom.

Whether something is defamatory, whether to send a demand, whether a claim is worth bringing, whether a record can be sealed, what a court might order, how to dispute a background report under the statute that governs it — all of that is for a lawyer. Where a page here reaches that line it says so and stops, and that is deliberate rather than evasive.

Every policy here is quoted as it read on a date

Where an operator's own words settle a question, they are quoted, with the operator named and the date the page was read. That date is doing real work.

Platforms rewrite help pages, retire removal forms, add categories and remove them, and none of it is announced. A quotation that was exactly right on the day it was read can be out of date months later. Before you rely on anything here, open the source and read it as it stands now. Where this site and the operator's current page disagree, the operator is right.

Timeframes appear only where an operator publishes one

This market repeats numbers that nobody publishes: first movement in thirty days, three to six months for a campaign, two weeks for a removal. Those figures do not come from the companies who make the decisions.

So a timeframe appears on this site only where an operator has printed one, and where none exists the page says plainly that no operator publishes a timeframe for this and names who would have to. That is less satisfying than a number. It is also the difference between information and reassurance, and reassurance is what people are usually sold instead.

Nothing here starts an engagement

Reading a page, sending an email, or using the contact form does not begin any work and does not create a professional relationship. The form posts nothing to this website; it opens a message in your own mail application for you to send yourself.

A conflict check comes first, and work starts only when scope and terms are agreed in writing. Send nothing confidential or privileged before that, through the form or otherwise.

What I do not control

Links here go to primary sources: an operator's documentation, a government page, a court decision. What those pages say, whether they keep working, and what those companies do is theirs and not mine, and a link is not an endorsement.

Nor do I control the systems this site describes. Search results change without anybody touching them. Platforms change their rules. A listing that was removed can reappear when the source data refreshes. An archived copy can outlive the page it was taken from. Where a page here describes how one of those systems behaves, it is describing documented behavior, not a control anyone has been given over it.

No clients, no figures, no testimonials

There are no client names on this site, no case studies with numbers attached, and no testimonials. Not because there is nothing to say, but because the situations are private and a reputation matter is the last thing anybody wants used as an advertisement.

It also means the usual proof is missing, and you should judge this site on something better: whether the sources are named, whether the dates are there, whether the pages tell you when the answer is no, and whether any of it survives you checking it. That test works on everyone in this field, including me.
